A microwave only is a simple, convenient appliance which can heat, reheat, steam and defrost food.
What is a microwave grill?
A microwave grill is a two in one appliance which does everything a microwave can do with the added bonus of a grill. You can grill meat or fish and crisp up your meals.
What is a combi microwave?
A combi microwave is ideal if you have a smaller kitchen or would want to save some space. It is essentially a mini oven which combines a microwave, grill and convection oven in one convenient appliance.
What is a flatbread microwave?
A flatbread microwave offers a much greater capacity for cooking as it doesn't have a cooking turntable.
What is an integrated microwave?
An integrated microwave is designed to fit in with the rest of your kitchen, freeing up worktop space.
What is the capacity of a microwave?
There is a huge range of capacities available from 17 to 32 litres. The size you choose will depend on the space you have in the kitchen but, in general, anything around 27 litres will be ideal for families.
What is the power of a microwave?
Microwave power is measured in watts, ranging from 800 to 1100 watts. The higher the number of watts, the quicker the microwave can cook food.
What is auto cooking?
Auto cooking microwaves assess the weight of the food and calculate the time needed for it to be cooked.
What is chaos defrost?
Chaos defrost uses random pulses of microwave energy to heat food, this reduces the overall defrost time.
What are the linings?
Some microwaves are fitted with either a catalytic or pyrolytic liner. These are self-cleaning, so there will be no build up of any food or grease.
What is sensor cooking?
Models with a sensor cooking capacity can automatically detect the moisture within the food and the humidity of the oven. They use this to determine the correct power levels and cooking time.
What is a steam function?
A steam function injects high-density steam into the top section of the microwave. The enables the microwave to retain moisture in the food while decreasing the cooking time and reducing the overall fat content.
What is inverter technology?
Microwaves with inverter technology can cook at different power levels, providing an evener temperature and texture.
What is intelligence sensor technology?
Instead of selecting the time and power, with intelligence sensor technology you can select the type of food you are cooking, and the microwave oven will cook it accordingly.
